Chair Yoga is a gentle and accessible form of Hatha yoga that makes the physical and mental benefits of a traditional mat practice available to everyone, regardless of age, mobility, or fitness level. In this welcoming class, all postures and movements are adapted to be performed while seated or using a sturdy chair for support and balance, so there is no need to get up or down from the floor.
What to Expect:
The class begins with guided breathing exercises and a seated warm-up to center the mind and loosen physical tension. You will then be guided through a series of gentle stretches and modified poses designed to improve range of motion in the spine, hips, shoulders, and legs. The second portion of class may include optional standing poses, such as Warrior variations, where the chair is used for stability to build strength and enhance balance. The session concludes with a seated cool-down and a final relaxation (Savasana) to leave you feeling calm, refreshed, and grounded.
